It wasn’t the biggest suite at Hotel De La Ville, not even close. It was merely a deluxe junior suite — without a terrace. But it was on the top floor, with a bird’s-eye view into the hotel’s central courtyard and a clear sight across the rooftop toward the gardens of Villa Borghese in the distance. And while this gorgeous Rocco Forte hotel is considered — price- and prestige-wise — to be the little sibling to the brand’s even more glamorous Hotel de Russie, I think I now prefer De La Ville over the Russie. This room was perfect for a quick visit. The service throughout was absolutely wonderful and highly personalized. Plus the location, just atop the Spanish Steps, is perfect.
