Corn has long been the most important agricultural product in Mexico, both economically and culturally. It’s also, not surprisingly, one of the country’s most popular street foods. On a recent visit to Mexico City, on a taco crawl in Condesa and Roma with my husband, we stumbled upon an incredible corn vendor. They were selling elote (on a stick) and esquites (in a cup). We couldn’t resist. Good thing, too, because it was all fantastic. Super fresh. Super fun. And I can completely understand why this little cart had one of the longest lines in the neighborhood.
