Just Announced: Society for Features Journalism Awards!

This just in! The Society for Features Journalism has announced the 2019 Excellence-in-Features Awards, and I’m thrilled to have won the category Best Food Criticism for my review of Journeyman’s Food & Drink, which originally appeared in the Orange County Register last summer. I also grabbed an honorable mention for overall food-writing portfolio.

It’s an honor and privilege to be recognized alongside such incredible writers whose work has inspired me for years, including the late Jonathan Gold of the L.A. Times, Tim Carman at the Washington Post, Alison Cook at the Houston Chronicle and Michalene Busico at the Dallas Morning News.

Congratulations to all the amazing journalists across the country (and Canada!) who were recognized in this year’s awards.

For more travel inspiration and photos, I invite you to follow me and join the conversation on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. To view more of my work for the Register, check out the archives.
