Photo of the Week: Horstman Hut, Whistler Blackcomb

  • February 17, 2019

It’s hard to grasp the vastness of Whistler Blackcomb. Between the two mountains, this place is truly colossal. I snapped this photo at the top of Blackcomb Mountain at Horstman Hut, a no-frills dining cabin at an elevation just shy of 7,500 feet.

One of my favorite things about Whistler Blackcomb is the Peak 2 Peak Gondola that spans the divide between the two mountains. It’s the highest gondola in the world and also one of the longest. The views are incredible, but this ride is not for the faint at heart.

This is the new Lao restaurant in Westminster that everyone will soon be talking about. The pork sausages, the barbecue chicken thighs, the sticky rice, the khao piak (Lao chicken noodle soup)... Link in stories. 179 5
